A prominent, mission-driven non-profit is looking for an experienced Affordable Housing Property Manager to lead their residential portfolio in the South County, RI region. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of an expanding residential community, ensure compliance with LIHTC and Section 8 guidelines, and build a supportive neighborhood environment.
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 per year (based on experience).
Responsibilities of the Affordable Housing Property Manager:
- Manage day-to-day property workflows, including leasing, occupancy tracking, and resident relations.
- Ensure strict alignment with LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, and Fair Housing guidelines.
- Handle initial and interim tenant recertifications, file reviews, and audit preparation.
- Manage rent collections, handle delinquencies, review budgets, and evaluate financial performance.
- Coordinate facility upkeep, manage vendors, and prepare for housing authority inspections.
- Supervise on-site personnel and resolve resident inquiries and community issues effectively.
Qualifications of the Affordable Housing Property Manager:
- 3 years of property management experience, with a required background in affordable housing.
- Solid understanding of HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, and Fair Housing regulations.
- Direct experience managing tenant compliance files and navigating regulatory audits.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi, RealPage, or MRI is highly preferred.
- Active industry certifications (such as COS, TCS, or HCCP) are a major plus.
