City Park Grill, owned by Wine Guys Restaurant Group, was founded in 1997. The building is an historical wonder, with prohibition stories, ghost tales AND Ernest Hemingway hung out here!
We are currently hiring for our summer season. Looking for positive, motivated, quick thinking individuals to join our team. We offer tremendous support, training and employee discounts.
City Park Grill is a popular dining destination in Petoskey. Our summers are busy and fun!
Responsibilities
- Reiliability is a key component to being successful at City Park Grill. Show up on time, show up for your shifts!
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with a friendly, energetic approach.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Manage multiple tables by prioritizing tasks effectively with strong time management skills.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering and cash handling procedures
- Maintain food safety standards by adhering to sanitation protocols, proper food handling, and food preparation guidelines.
- Ability to run food, bus tables, seat guests, communicate with the kitchen, etc. as needed
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving issues with professionalism.
- Support overall restaurant operations during busy nights or special events .
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations.
- Culinary or kitchen experience is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to engage guests and coordinate with team members effectively.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed .
We are looking to interview now and begin onboarding May 1. Servers will complete training between May 1 - May 15, however there is some flexibility to start later in the month due to school or family obligations.
Pay: $21.71 - $26.14 per hour
