What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreman (Water and Sewer Collections) position at City of Paris?
JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, serves as foreman in the Water Distribution and Sewer Collections departments; and does related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Assists and supervises the work of laborers in the Water and Sewer systems in construction and maintenance Jobs and projects. Constructs and maintains repairs and additions to water and sewer lines. Able to operate heavy machinery. Under general supervision performs water taps, repairs leaks, and tests meters. Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent (GED)
Three years’ responsible experience in waste water / Water Collections and distribution
Appropriate certification (Class II and minimum of Class I) in either Collections and Distribution license as issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Valid Kentucky driver's license.
Special Knowledge. Skills and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of principles and of construction management and mechanics specifically related to line maintenance and upkeep. Considerable knowledge of preventive maintenance. Ability to operate equipment and machinery safely and efficiently. Ability to follow and prepare technical reports concisely and accurately. Technical, administrative and supervisory. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials and the public. Alertness. Sound Judgment. Dependability. Integrity.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; perform repetitive movements of hands or wrist. Ability to work in inclement weather for extended periods of time.
Physical criteria include:
