- MCOLES Physical Agility Test
- EMPCO Entry-Level Law Enforcement Exam
️ Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete all training and curriculum requirements at a recognized Michigan police academy
- Learn and apply professional policing principles, procedures, and case law
- Participate in community outreach and public service events
- Assist with documentation, evidence handling, and administrative tasks
- Maintain departmental equipment and uphold ethical standards
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of MCOLES reading, writing, and physical agility tests
- Completion of the EMPCO test (proof required at time of application)
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- U.S. Citizenship
- Strong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass a background check, psychological evaluation, interview, and drug/alcohol screening
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
