BUILDING AND CODE INSPECTOR
The City of Yankton is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building and Code Inspector in the Community and Economic Development Department.
This position, under administrative direction, enforces all City Ordinances relating to, but not limited to, buildings, code enforcement, zoning, signage, weeds, trees, snow removal and public nuisances within the City of Yankton’s jurisdiction. This position is a regular full-time position and requires a high school diploma or GED and advanced training. The starting salary for this position is $54,651 per year, plus benefits. The City of Yankton participates in the required State Retirement plan and matches the six percent (6%) employee contribution deduction. The City will provide a bi-weekly accrued amount up to two weeks of vacation (80 hours) per year and additional vacation thereafter based on years of service cumulatively from the 80-hour base. The City provides sick leave at a rate of 8 hours per month for a full-time employee which can be accumulated to 960 hours. The City has 10 paid (8 hours) holidays and four personal days to be used at any time throughout the year, pending supervisor approval.
