Supervision is provided by Parks staff.
This position works 40 hours per week, which consists of four ten hour days per week.
- Operates front deck mowers, weed eaters, and push lawn mowers to perform mowing operations and brush removal in City rights-of-way, parks, and other locations.
- May assist other departments in the repair of streets, water and wastewater lines, and street signs.
- May perform maintenance to water and wastewater pumping stations.
- Uses picks, shovels, brooms, hand saws, wrenches, ropes, chains, tape measures, oil, lubricants, fuel, paint, wire brushes, and various other hand tools.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- Performs as a responsible steward of the public trust and strives for excellence in public service, enhancing the quality of life for all.
- Acts in a civil, respectful manner at all times to management, co-workers and others.
Must be 17 years of age or older. High School Diploma or equivalent if over 17 years of age. Familiarity with operation and minor maintenance of the equipment and ability to perform routine maintenance as requested. Valid Driver License. Must have Texas Driver License within 60 days of hire. Must have a clear driving record. Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses as outlined by Emergency Management after hire.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH REQUIRED:High: Exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently or 10-20 pounds constantly.
