The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for Youth
Employment Coach for the Division of Youth Opportunities (DYO) within
the Department of Health and Human Services. The Division of Youth
Opportunities provides summer jobs for inner city youth between the ages
of 15-24. The Youth Employment Coach will maintain a caseload of
assigned youth as a part of the YouthWorks Grant, to provide them with
daily supervision and support. This position will work collectively with
Division of Youth Opportunities (DYO) Site Coordinators, Assistant Site
Coordinators, and Youth Workers to ensure a positive working and
learning experience at Recreation Worcester summer program sites.

Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with Site
Coordinators, Assistant Site Coordinators, and Youth Workers to ensure a
successful experience for all Youth Workers \~ Conduct Recreation
Worcester orientation and facilitate work readiness trainings for youth
staff \~ Work with Site Coordinators and DYO staff to manage youth
worker job and training attendance \~ Manage documentation of Youth
Worker incidents and address issues that arise, alongside Assistant
Program Coordinator and Program Coordinator \~ Conduct in-person site
visits throughout the week to outdoor Recreation Worcester worksites and
assist with problem solving in the event of conflict, escalate to
Program Coordinator when appropriate \~ Communicate with Youth Workers
weekly to ensure a successful job experience, including assisting
through any work-based challenges \~ Assist in monitoring and accurately
maintaining weekly timesheets and distributing weekly payroll \~ Assist
Site Coordinators in implementing and completing the Work Based Learning
Plans for all assigned Youth Workers \~ Conduct reflection activities
and end-of-program surveys to assist with program improvement and skill
development \~ Participate in staff training \~ Meet with DYO team to
provide weekly status reports on the work sites and assigned Youth
Workers \~ Lead the collection and accurate entry of YouthWorks
grant-specific data, ensuring timely and complete submissions of all
required forms \~ Other duties as assigned REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,
AND ABILITIES: \~ Proficient in Microsoft Office \~ Ability to be detail
oriented \~ Demonstrated ability to supervise and/or lead staff and/or
volunteers \~ Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse
populations \~ Ability to be a team player and problem solver \~ Ability
to work with youth aged 15-25 from diverse backgrounds \~ Ability to
multitask in a busy, fast-moving environment \~ Familiarity with
Worcester communities and resources \~ Ability to receive constructive
feedback from supervisor \~ Ability to travel daily to different
Recreation Worcester sites \~ Ability to build relationships and
networking skills with students, colleagues, and community members \~
Regular onsite attendance is required \~ Ability to work with youth with
special educational or emotional needs MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: \~
Associate\'s degree in Human Services or other related field; Or, High
school Diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of related experience \~
Staff or volunteer supervision experience \~ One (1) year of experience
working with children and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic
backgrounds and abilities \~ Valid Driver\'s License and access to
reliable transportation \~ Must pass a criminal background check (CORI &
SORI) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: \~ One (1) year of experience
facilitating out of school activities and programming \~ Two (2) years
of experience with staff or program participant supervision \~ Two (2)
