The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for a Program
Coordinator for the Division of Youth Opportunities within the
Department of Health and Human Services. Under the direction of the
Youth Director, this position will oversee multiple projects connected
to local, state, and federal grants with a strong focus on managing
youth violence prevention initiatives, coordinating community-based
strategies, and supporting coalitions aligned with the Division\'s
priorities. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for strategic
planning, project coordination, resource management, grant
administration, grant writing, and reporting, while working closely with
community-based organizations, neighborhood partners, social service
agencies, outreach workers, and communities impacted by violence. This
role will serve as a key liaison to strengthen partnerships, support
direct service coordination with community partners, provide technical
assistance, and help implement new and existing initiatives that promote
youth development, public safety, and equitable, community-informed

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: \~ Strong understanding and
experience with state or federal grant contract management, budget
development, budget implementation, budget tracking and financial
reporting \~ Serve as a bridge between stakeholders, project managers,
and senior leadership, providing regular updates and addressing concerns
\~ Proficiency in electronic databases and Microsoft Office Suite \~
Experience working with diverse populations \~ Ability to maintain
records and prepare reports \~ Ability to facilitate interdisciplinary
teamwork \~ Ability to do weekly site visits to program partners \~
Ability to conceptualize and organize projects into manageable tasks \~
Ability to convene and facilitate meetings \~ Ability to work nights and
weekends, as required \~ Excellent written and oral communication skills
\~ Strong research, analytical and data skills \~ Must have excellent
time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks \~ Regular onsite
attendance is required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: \~ Bachelor\'s Degree in
public health, project management, youth development or other related
discipline, OR; Any equivalent combination of education, training and
three (3) years of relevant experience which provides the required
knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of
the job will be considered in lieu of the above requirement. \~ Three
experience managing state or federal grants, including reporting,
compliance, and program documentation. \~ Valid driver\'s license and
access to reliable transportation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: \~
Master\'s degree in public health, project management, youth development
