The City of Woonsocket is conducting a search for a Water Meter Reader &
Repair Shopman. Under the direction of the Water Division
Superintendent, the Water Meter Reader & Repair Shopman reads and
installs, tests and repairs water meters, records all water readings,
installs water taps and tests and repairs fire hydrants. The person in
this position also does welding and pipefitting repair work as needed. A
high school diploma, or equivalent certification is required. Two (2)
years of experience working in construction and mechanical repair is
also required. Must possess a Class 1 Distribution Operator License
within one (1) year of employment. Must be customer service oriented.
