Are you a dynamic storyteller with a passion for brand strategy, digital engagement, and community impact? The City of Woodstock is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead our efforts in shaping and sharing our city's story!

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of strategic marketing, public relations, and digital outreach-driving engagement, transparency, and brand awareness. You'll lead a talented team, manage multi-channel campaigns, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance the city's visibility. From media relations to social media strategy, website management to crisis communications, your expertise will help shape how Woodstock connects with the community.

The City of Woodstock is a charming historic community of 25,630, located 55 miles northwest of Chicago on Metra rail. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Woodstock is a community unlike any other boasting historic 19th century buildings, dining, entertainment, accommodations, specialty shops, professional services, art galleries, and live theater.

The City employs 353 (full, part-time and seasonal) employees in a variety of departments within the organization, such as Office of the City Manager, Development Services - Building & Planning, Development Services - Engineering, Economic Development, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, Opera House, Police, Public Library, Public Works, and Recreation.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with demonstrated success in communications, media relations, public affairs, marketing, and digital communications strategy and administration or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Computer proficiency with various marketing/analytic programs, including but not limited to, MS Office, Suite, Adobe Creative Suites, Canva, Google Analytics, and Google Ads.
  • Prior experience in successfully supervising a team and/or employees.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of municipal marketing philosophies and regulations around data protection and accessibility.
  • Project management qualification.
  • Google Analytics Certification.
  • Previous use of program management software (such as Wrike).
  • Direct connection to local/municipal government and knowledge of Illinois and Wisconsin media markets.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish.

SALARY:

The current annual salary range for this salaried/exempt position is $73,561.18 to $99,299.20, with an anticipated hiring range of $73,561.18 to $90,000.00, based on qualifications of the successful candidate. We offer a very competitive group benefits package along with an IMRF pension.
