What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Experience Associate position at City of Woodbury?
This position aims to provide patrons excellent customer service, address concerns, and resolve issues promptly. The Guest Experience Associate will foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors and facility partners through face to face, phone, and electronic interactions at the Welcome Desk, Lookout Ridge playground, event rental space and throughout Central Park. Daily tasks will include setup, cleanup and troubleshooting of rental rooms as well as general cleaning of restrooms, Lookout Ridge playground and other facility spaces as needed.
We are seeking multiple candidates to fill Guest Experience Associate positions. These roles will have varying schedules and hours per week. Candidates will be expected to work between 6 - 28 hours per week. Typical staffing hours will be between 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM and shifts will vary based on facility needs to include evenings and weekends.
Position will be open until filled with priority consideration given to applications received by April 16, 2026.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Open and close the building as needed.
- Support and promote Destination: Woodbury by answering questions, providing information and assisting guests.
- Set up tables and chairs for room rentals per the set up specifications.
- Clean, pickup and put away tables and chairs in rental rooms after completed rentals.
- Mop, clean, vacuum, and wipe down spaces around the facility. Including restrooms, Lookout Ridge and other spaces as needed.
- Accurately collect and enter fees into the point-of-sale system.
- Keep accurate attendance and accident records.
- Operate office machines such as calculator, printer, copy machine, and
computer hardware along with various software packages such as Microsoft Word and
Excel.
- Access information in RecTrac computer program and update room displays.
- Update and complete daily tasks.
- Log lost and found items.
- Update weekly access control entry for doors.
- Monitor and restock promotional materials.
- Prepare work area for daily operation.
- Stock inventory.
- Welcome and interact with guests, parties and field trips in positive and friendly manner both in person and on the phone.
- Provide public with information about Lookout Ridge, event rentals, recreation programs and rules.
- Keep supervisor informed of any suggestions or concerns you or participants have.
- Attend all required meetings and training programs.
- Effectively communicate with birthday party and event rentals to ensure appropriate
service and positive experience.
- Utilize feedback from supervisors and customer evaluations to continually improve
service.
- Enforce facility rules including the Lookout Ridge playground rules.
- Supervise birthday parties and groups as assigned.
- Assist with assigning tasks to Lookout Ridge Attendants and Event Staff as needed.
- Report acts of vandalism and equipment needing repair.
- Remove refuse from trash receptacles.
- Perform daily and nightly cleaning tasks of lobby and seating area, as well as
play structure (by washing/wiping down/dusting/vacuuming and spot cleaning).
- Stock & clean restrooms as needed.
- Pick up debris and litter.
- Take initiative to do emergency cleaning. Including incident cleanup in Lookout Ridge playground.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Familiarity with automated office equipment including but not limited to personal computer, phone and copier.
- Familiarities with basic computer software including Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of experience in a customer service or guest assistance setting.
- Experience utilizing an online program registration software (such as RecTrac).
