Description
The Economic Development Specialist provides responsible, professional, confidential and technical support to the Economic Development Director in economic development research, concept, implementation and monitoring of projects or programs designed to promote economic growth and revitalization. The incumbent is expected to be competent to perform the full range of duties for this class independently and without close supervision. Work involves responsibility for the application of professional knowledge and skills to effect research, analysis, planning, and implementation of economic development programs, activities, projects, and events and requires the frequent use of independent judgment.
Associate's degree in business, marketing, management, urban studies, and related fields, and two (2) years of responsible professional experience, in public economic development planning, business administration, or business management, involving public contact in person and providing technical and professional support and social media management in public relations/marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Other Requirements:
- Valid Oregon Class C driver's license and the ability to meet the City of Woodburn's driving standards
- Must pass the pre-employment background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, management, urban studies, and related fields
