The Employee Safety Intern supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of workplace safety programs within a local government organization. Current enrollment in a college or university program encompassing Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or a related field.
Physical Requirements
Work is typically performed in an office setting, with occasional site visits to city facilities or field locations. The intern may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, construction environments, or other work settings requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Observe and learn about local government operations related to occupational safety.
- Review safety plans from external contacts under the supervision of a Safety Inspector.
- Help investigate alleged unsafe conditions and recommend required improvements.
