The City of Winchester and Department of Human Resources invites you to join our team!! This is a confidential, professional position responsible for performing administrative work in the operations of the Human Resources Department while serving as the department’s primary point of contact and office receptionist.
Duties and Responsiblities
As an HR Assistant you will provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers and serve as the primary HR contact answering the telephone and greeting customers regarding departmental procedures and services.
The successful candidate will gather information and materials for meetings, events, etc. for the department, manage and be responsible for the accuracy of all employee human resources files, and assist with City wide recruitment and retention efforts.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Sociology, Psychology, or closely related field. Experience in local government or an office-oriented occupation dealing with public interactions and general business administration is preferred. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook is required. Proficiency with a mid-sized human resource information system (HRIS) and/or finance data base system is preferred. Experience using online applicant tracking systems preferred.
