Seasonal Sports Official – Parks & Recreation
The City of Wilmington is hiring Seasonal Sports Officials for the Parks & Recreation Department. Sports Officials help run City athletic programs by officiating games and keeping them safe, fair, and organized. This position reports to the Athletic Coordinator.
Job Duties:
Sports Officials officiate youth and adult athletic games for City recreation programs. Officials make rule calls, manage game flow, and help keep games running on time. They are responsible for maintaining a safe playing environment and controlling the game when needed. Officials must act professionally at all times and serve as positive role models for players, coaches, and spectators.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Prior officiating or sports-related experience is helpful but not required. The ability to follow written and verbal instructions is required. Applicants must be reliable and able to communicate clearly during games.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing, running, and moving for long periods during athletic games.
Pay Rate:
Starting pay is $12.00 per hour.
