Wastewater Maintenance Worker I
The City of Wilmington, Ohio, is announcing an open competitive exam to establish an Eligibility List for the position of Maintenance Worker I, Public Works. The required written test will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in the Community Room located in the Wilmington Municipal Building, 69 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Applicants will not be admitted after the examination begins. The scope of the written exam will be multiple choice questions relative to qualification requirements.
General Description:
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker I performs standard operations, procedures, and semi skilled maintenance tasks required for the efficient daily operation of the wastewater collection and treatment facilities.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED) preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license and must remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance plan
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio class A CDL or be able to obtain a Class A CDL within one year
- Ability to work a varied schedule which will require some weekends
Starting base salary will be consistent with the City’s approved pay plan; Wastewater Maintenance Worker I: $20.04. Prior relevant experience will be considered when determining salary. Each pay plan has established annual salary step increases.
