Position Description
Typical Tasks
- Pick up mail from the U.S. Post Office in downtown Wilmington
- Deliver mail to various City departments located outside the Skyline Center
- Ensure timely collection and distribution of all incoming mail and packages for tenants and employees at the Skyline Center
- Prepare outgoing City mail including weighing, labeling, applying postage and coding to City department or project
- Collect outgoing stamped mail from tenants for United States Post Office and UPS/FedEx items for courier pickup
- Maintain an organized and clean mailroom area, ensuring that all supplies are well-stocked and readily available for use
- Communicate with postal services, courier services, and other delivery personnel to manage deliveries, pick-ups, and special requests
- Provide assistance with loading and unloading deliveries in the docking area as needed
- Monitor dock area cameras for security purposes
- Other tasks as needed may include front-desk coverage, manage the shared pool vehicles for City departments at the Skyline, etc.
Qualifications
Education:
- Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, simple processes, and routine operation of machines. The level of knowledge is equivalent to high school graduate or equivalency.
- No experience required. Experience in shipping/receiving is beneficial to the role but not required.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License.
