The City of Williamsburg is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the Fleet Mechanic position in our Public Works Department. This position is responsible for performing routine and basic work in the inspection, maintenance, and basic repair of automotive equipment, City vehicles, and other related equipment. The work is performed under the regular supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.

Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent and
- Three (3) years of experience in problem diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a variety of automotive equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
- Acceptable criminal background, DMV check and drug screen results
- Class “B” commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain learners permit within 6 months license within 18 months of employment
- Virginia State Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection License or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
