What You’ll Do:
- Lead and support a small crew responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining water and sewer lines, fire hydrants, and water meters.
- Work alongside your team on daily tasks—no desk-only days here.
- Help plan jobs, track maintenance, and ensure materials are ready.
- Assist with snow/ice response and traffic control at job sites.
- Train on pump stations and help develop the skills of your crew.
- Keep your supervisor informed of issues and share ideas to improve operations.
- Stay up-to-date on safe work practices and industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED.
- About 3 years of hands-on experience in utility, construction, or maintenance work (or a combination of experience and training).
- Willingness to earn required certifications, including CDL Class A (with endorsements), wastewater and water distribution certifications, confined space, and flagger training.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and around heavy equipment.
- A team-first attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to represent the City professionally.
Compensation and Benefits:
The hourly range for this full-time (Non-Exempt) position starts at $25.00 per hour, based on qualifications.
