Job Overview
Skilled automotive and truck repair performed at the journeyman level. Duties involve responsibility for the application of skills and knowledge in the maintenance repair, and overhaul of trucks, specialized construction and maintenance equipment, automobiles and other vehicles utilized in municipal operation.
Requirements
- Must possess valid Massachusetts CDL license, class B or higher.
- The ability to obtain ASE certification within two years of hire.
- The ability to obtain hoisting license within 6 months of hire.
- Considerable knowledge of hazardous and safety precautions in operating equipment in this class.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, frequently of a technical nature.
- High School graduate plus sufficient work experience or technical training to perform assigned duties; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
