The Westerville Parks Maintenance Division is seeking one applicant to fill our summer seasonal position!
This is a responsible, semi-skilled position performing watering duties for park maintenance, Seasonal Park Specialists work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. This position will have a varied schedule but is expected to be Tu - Sa 4:00 am - 11:30 am.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with citizens, vendors, city and departmental staff is needed. Ability to operate and maneuver a non-CDL truck with skid-mounted sprayer to perform daily watering duties. Ability to problem solve, complete equipment inspections and provide basic maintenance. Ability to learn pump operations, to regulate flow and pressure for varying circumstances. Provides and fulfills staffing needs responding to absentee coverage. Ability to work within all standard safetypractices associated with the trade in orderto maintain a safe working environment. Performs other related duties as required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Possession at the time of appointment of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Demonstrated, self-motivated and independent workers are preferred.
- Possession of valid Ohio Driver’s license is required.
