Job Summary
The City of West Des Moines’ Public Services Department is seeking a Seasonal Forestry Worker II to perform forestry-related services for public trees and assist with snow removal and other tasks as needed. The Seasonal Forestry Worker will report to the Urban Forestry Supervisor. Average duration of employment is 4 to 9 months.
One year of Forestry/Arboriculture work experience along with experience with the application of forestry herbicides and EAB related treatments preferred to qualify for a Seasonal Forestry II position.
A current Iowa Commercial Pesticide license in Category 3OT, or the ability to obtain this certification within 2 weeks of employment, is required to qualify for the Seasonal Forestry II position.

Job Description
Seasonal Forestry Worker II
Requires high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, valid driver’s license, and ability to operate hand and power tools. Must be at least 18 years of age.
