- Support General Fund accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis for the Department of Public Works (DPW) as needed
- Prepare year-end closings and account reconciliations in support of the annual audit
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly budget reports to DPW divisions
- Provide financial, cash flow, and budget analysis to support management decision-making
- Prepare the annual Public Service Commission report for the Water Utility
- Assist with quarterly financial reports to the Common Council
- Coordinate with and support external auditors during year-end audits
- Assist with the annual budget process, including salary and departmental cost projections
- Compile and support annual budgets for all four enterprise funds
- Collaborate with other departments on efficiency initiatives, Lean process improvements, and management projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA preferred
- Experience in local government or regulatory accounting, finance, and budgeting preferred
- Payroll and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) experience highly desirable
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and GASB requirements preferred
