Public Works Laborer (Full-time)
Description
The purpose of this position is to provide support in the construction and maintenance of City infrastructure. This position performs a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance and repair of city streets, right-of-ways, parks, buildings, and utility infrastructure while using a multitude of tools and equipment. Other duties include monitoring periodic maintenance of equipment such as backhoes, pick-ups, dump trucks and assorted tools. Professional interactions with other City employees and citizens also required. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Construction, utility or municipal experience preferred.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License with clean driving record.
- Class D Water and Class D Wastewater licenses or the ability to obtain within first year of employment.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather.
- Must be available for after-hours call outs on rotating schedule.
- Regular and timely attendance required for this position.
- Must be able to pass background check, physical and pre-employment drug screen.
Salary will depend upon qualifications.
