Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operator
The City of Waynesboro is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operator. Individuals with no previous experience will have 18 months to obtain their Class IV Wastewater license.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator works as a member of the WWTP team to ensure Wastewater is properly treated in order to protect the community and the environment. Typical duties involve monitoring and operating equipment, making repairs, and collecting test samples. The majority of work is performed at the WWTP; however, operators are required to conduct work at other wastewater facilities and in severe weather as required.
Shift and weekend work required.
HS diploma or GED required. Valid Virginia driver’s license is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs to include Word, Excel, etc. is preferred.
Starting Salary is $22.48 an hour with the potential for pay increases for acquiring additional skills and or/education. Personnel who currently hold a valid Wastewater license may potentially start at a higher salary.
