The Public Works Department is seeking a candidate for a Utility Customer Service Representative position.
Duties include performing basic professional and administrative work in an office setting, as well as assisting with field operations as needed. This role serves as an initial point of contact for utility customers who have questions regarding accounts for water, sewer, and refuse collection. The desired candidate will be knowledgeable of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment; be proficient in writing, communication and basic arithmetic; possess the ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed; have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow City team members, utility customers, and the general public; be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Field operation duties include installing, troubleshooting, and reading water meters; working with customers on leak adjustments and other issues; and servicing/cleaning meter boxes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with customer billing are desired. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
High School Diploma or GED is required. A valid Driver’s License is required. The starting salary is $38,435.70 with the potential for pay increases for acquiring additional skills and/or education. EOE. The standard hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is also an in-person position that will be in the city's central municipal building. The position is open until filled..
