DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This is the entry-level position within professional planning. It is distinguished from the Planning Technician position because it involves professional-level duties and judgment, and fewer routine administrative tasks. Supervisors may review the work of the Planner but receive less immediate supervision in comparison to the Planning Technician.
