- Responsible for safety and satisfaction of pool patrons through quality customer service.
- Provides emergency assistance such as rescue or first aid as needed in and around pool.
- Assists with general pool maintenance.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations
- Maintain organized and clean pool facilities
- Provide customer service, at concessions and admissions
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Of
- Operations, services and activities of a swimming pool.
- Occupational hazards and applicable safety precautions.
- CPR and general life saving techniques
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Accurately use life preserving equipment
- Handle and balance a cash drawer
- Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws, and regulations.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Work flexible schedule, Tuesday through Sunday.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations of the Parks and Recreation department.
- Interpret, explain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
- Interpret and explain city policies and procedures.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Education, Training and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous lifeguard experience preferred, but not required.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certification.
