Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Building Inspector to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of construction projects. Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Review blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accuracy and adherence to design intent.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout various phases of construction, including foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, and finishing work.
  • Collect data related to construction progress, quality issues, and safety concerns for reporting purposes.
  • Analyze inspection findings to identify potential issues or deviations from plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with construction management teams to address deficiencies or non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Document inspection results thoroughly and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
  • Monitor adherence to contracts and project timelines while ensuring work meets established standards.
  • Conduct site visits regularly to oversee ongoing work and verify that construction practices align with approved plans.
  • Collaborates and assists team members as needed and directed to include answering phones and assisting citizens when necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction inspection or related roles within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, quality control procedures, and building codes including the 2024 Family of International Building Codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Excellent analysis skills for assessing construction quality and identifying potential issues.
  • Familiarity with construction management principles and contract requirements.
  • Experience with data collection methods relevant to site inspections and quality assurance.
  • Construction site experience is preferred to understand real-world application of inspection standards.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
  • Knowledge of pipeline systems or specialized inspection areas is a plus but not mandatory.
