What are the responsibilities and job description for the ALPAR Supervisor position at City of Wasilla?
Under limited supervision, supervise and direct teams of the ALPAR Youth Litter Patrol program.
- Responsible for direct supervision of assigned youth litter teams ensuring safety and modeling productive behavior. Redirect and motivate if needed.
- Demonstrate safety features of equipment; distribute safety equipment including vests, eye protections, gloves, trash grabbers and other equipment. Ensure youth comply with safety procedures.
- Maintain records of activities and results, including youth timesheets.
- Coordinate patrol sites with youth and/or guardian; encourage recycling efforts.
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of youth motivation techniques.
- Ability to utilize communication tools, such as vehicle radio.
- Ability to operate city-owned vehicles.
- Skilled in record keeping for grant funding requirements.
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have valid State of Alaska Driver’s License at time of hire.
- Must submit proof of satisfactory driving requirements according to City of Wasilla driving guidelines.
