Position Overview:
The City of Washington is seeking a dependable and skilled individual to join our Water & Wastewater Department. This position performs maintenance, repair, and installation work on the City’s water distribution and wastewater systems to ensure safe and reliable service for our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair wells, pumps, lift stations, and other system components.
- Install and repair water and sewer lines, meters, and hydrants.
- Operate equipment such as backhoes, dump trucks, and jetting units.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on water and wastewater systems.
- Assist with snow removal, grounds upkeep, and other city maintenance tasks.
- Participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of related maintenance or utility experience (two to three years preferred).
- Valid Missouri driver’s license and a Class B CDL with air brakes.
- Ability to perform physical labor and work in outdoor environments.
- Water or Wastewater Operator’s License required within 3 years of hire.
