Overview
- Maintains and repairs ditches.
- Maintains catch basins and headwalls.
- Maintains and installs drainage pipes.
- Flags traffic at work sites.
- Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Makes sidewalk and curb repairs.
- Repairs street water and sewer cuts.
- Installs road signs.
- Operates a backhoe, tamper, and other equipment.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools
- Performs related duties.
- Knowledge of street and drainage system maintenance principles.
- Knowledge of the tools and equipment use in the repair and maintenance of city infrastructure.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles equipment.
- Skill in the operation of hand and power tools.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- No experience requirements.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
