The City of Vacaville is accepting applications for the position of IT Analyst I/II in our Information Technology Department. Currently there is one IT Analyst II vacancy. This recruitment will serve to establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill additional vacancies that could occur over the next 12-month period.
Salary Information
IT Analyst I $83,974 - $102,080/Annually
IT Analyst II $98,950 - $120,275/Annually
A 2% COLA is scheduled for 11/1/2026

The ideal candidate is a skilled and adaptable IT professional with strong analytical abilities and experience supporting complex technology systems in a public sector environment.
Successful Candidates Will Demonstrate
IT Analyst I
Education: Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology or a closely related field.
Relevant technical experience that demonstrates the ability to perform analytical duties in assigned technology area may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Possession of one or more approved industry certificates and/or completion of other approved technology-related training may substitute for some or all of the required education.
Experience: One year of experience with applications and operations of computers is required.
IT Analyst II
Education: Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology or a closely related field.
Relevant technical experience that demonstrates the ability to perform analytical duties in assigned technology area may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Possession of one or more approved industry certificates and/or completion of other approved technology-related training may substitute for some or all of the required education.

Depending upon assignment, demonstrated technical competency and/or certification pertaining to the information technology used by the appointing department may be required.

Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Analyzing organizational business processes and system requirements and developing technology solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
- Designing, configuring and supporting enterprise systems and applications, including system enhancements, upgrades and integrations.
- Providing advanced Tier II/III technical support, troubleshooting, testing and resolution of complex application and data issues.
- Developing system documentation, workflows, reporting tools, dashboards and technical specifications to support system functionality and decision making.
- Coordinating with departments, vendors and IT staff to manage application changes, system improvements and project implementations.
- Leading or participating in technology projects, including system implementations, compliance updates and process automation initiatives.
- Training and supporting end users on new or updated systems and ensuring effective adoption of enterprise applications.
