Posting will open on January 2, 2026 and close on January 31, 2026.

Save the dates:
CPAT Orientation will commence on January 10, 2026 and January 17, 2026.
CPAT practices by invite only will occur between February 13, 2026 - March 15, 2026.
CPAT final will occur between March 20, 2026 - March 22, 2026.
Intern Orientation by invite only will be sent to all who passed CPAT by March 23, 2026.
Intern Orientation dates will occur on April 11, 2026 - April 12, 2026 and April 18, 2026 - April 19, 2026.
Hiring interviews by invite only will be in May 2026.
Final offers will be sent in June 2026.
The Academy will begin in July 2026.

If selected for the position you will be subject to a background check, fingerprints, psychological exam, and medical evaluation.

ABOUT THIS JOB
Duties and Responsibilities
This classification may include any of the listed duties, knowledge, skills, or other characteristics. This list is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all duties and tasks performed by incumbents of this class. Work assignments may vary depending on department needs.
  • Learns fire suppression and emergency medical response concepts and techniques such as using specialized equipment to contain hazards, fire behaviors, and classroom instruction.
  • Performs regular drills to learn and maintain fire suppression skills.
  • Learns concepts and techniques in patient assessment and the provision of emergency medical care through classroom instruction and scenario-based training.
  • Participates in emergency call responses and learns to combat, extinguish, and prevent fires.
  • Maintains and restores apparatus and/ or emergency equipment/ supplies before and after use.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience: No experience
License Requirements: None

Equivalency: Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
