Position Description
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our Development Services as a Trades Specialist, Sr. (Traffic Operations). Incumbents perform advanced journey level activities in support of assigned skilled trade(s). Typical duties include but are not limited to: Managing and assisting the coordination and maintenance of the city's 13 signalized intersections, 2 HAWK systems, 2 RRFB, solar speed feedback signs, and wireless network; maintaining and repairing of the city's 780 street light network; Assisting with fabricating and maintaining the City's street signing and striping inventory. Other duties include reviewing and making recommendations on street lighting and traffic signal plans and drafts; Reviewing and interpreting data related to traffic/speed studies; Working with City Engineer to standardize street lighting citywide for improvement and development projects; Coordinating guidance and inspection for traffic signals, street lighting, and street signage/markings; Participating in regular on-call rotation; and, other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED supplemented by college and/or technical coursework and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in related trades discipline; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience. IMSA Field Technician Level I, and IMSA Field Technician Level II certifications required. Must have a Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License. Traffic Control Technician (TCT), Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certifications highly desired.
