SUMMARY:
The Marketing Specialist serves as a key member of the City's communications and marketing team. This position is responsible for the daily activities of the City’s social media, marketing, and promotional efforts for the City. This position performs a variety of marketing duties in support of the goals and mission of the City of Temple, with a special emphasis on creativity, written communication, and advertising.

Web, Social & Multimedia
· Implement social media strategies and campaigns to engage City residents.
· Design social media graphics, signage, flyers and other promotional materials to support City departments.
· Develop and implement monthly social media content calendars.
· Update all content for websites, social media, and other communication channels.
· Assist with content development & programming for the City's Government Access Channel, through graphics, video projects and photography.
Advertising
· Implement marketing and advertising plans for assigned departments.
· Seek out relevant and proactive stories, topics, content, etc. to be used to promote Temple’s image.
· Collaborate proactively with departments to ensure that content communicated is relevant and well-designed.
Miscellaneous
· Stay up-to date with current industry trends and technology by attending trainings, conferences, webinars, etc.
· Participates in professional organizations and marketing information groups to advance knowledge and network with other industry professionals.
· Assist Marketing Manager with a variety of projects and other support.
