POSITION: MAINTENANCE ATTENDANT I - PARKS
POSITION NO: 7.178
DEPT: PUBLIC WORKS
This is manual labor in the Public Works Division. Responsibilities include a variety of grounds and general maintenance tasks for parks, athletic, and recreation facilities, and projects throughout the City, and operating related equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance tools and equipment; native plant material.
- Ability to learn the City's geographical area.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength and endurance.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver bulky and heavy materials; lift objects up to 75 pounds and routinely lift up to 50 pounds overhead.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public.
Training, Certification, and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Work experience in heavy manual labor including grounds and general maintenance.
- Or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements
- Valid Florida driver's license.
Copies of required certification(s) must be submitted with the application.
