Hourly Salary Range: $24.32 - $35.86

DESCRIPTION
This position processes and maintains records and documentation for the Police department in compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Responds to records requests from the officers, City staff, and members of the public. Reviews, scans, and files paperwork in applicable departmental and national police databases, transcribes police reports using records management system, assists officers with various database entries and confirms warrants for wanted subjects.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Files, scans, and records documents into the Records Management System.
- Manages high priority phone calls from police officers. Records messages from internal and external stakeholders.
- Transcribes all police reports using the Records Management System.
- Processes all public records requests for police and law enforcement reports including requests received from the media.
- Assists Detention Officers with warrants required for detainees undergoing the booking process.
- Helps complete high priority officer requests, including confirming arrest warrants, stolen vehicles, and external requests from other law enforcement agencies.
- Ensures records are available for Officer’s reference 24/7.
- May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in records management, clerical, administrative, or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Professional Licensure and/or Certifications:
Terminal Operator Certification awarded by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, obtain within one (1) week of hire.
