Classification: This is a safety sensitive position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act and/or Oklahoma Medical Marijuana laws. As a safety sensitive classification you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Performs rough carpentry work for use in concrete forms.

• Operates snow and ice removal.

• Brush and debris removal equipment.

• Operate equipment as necessary including tractors w/mowers; street sweepers; trucks and front-end loaders. Perform routine daily preventative maintenance on equipment at the job site.

• Operate small motorized equipment and hand tools as needed.

• Be on call 24/7 if needed.

• Self motivated to be able to work individually and cooperative enough to function as part of a team.

• Willingness to do manual labor outside and in all types of weather.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• One year of experience in equipment operation or equivalent vo-tech training.

Certificates; Licenses; Registrations

• Must possess a valid Oklahoma Class "D" Driver's License.

• Must have a Commercial “Class B” Drivers license and maintain it throughout your employment.

Other Qualifications

• Must successfully complete required drug testing and physical examination per City of Tahlequah's policies.

• Have and maintain a driving record sufficient to satisfy the insurance mandates placed upon the city.

• Establish employment eligibility under USDOL and City of Tahlequah rules and policies.

• The job is considered "Medium Work" but can be heavy at times.

• Level Three Visual Acuity and/or level required for Oklahoma Class "A" CDL; whichever is more stringent.
