What are the responsibilities and job description for the WATER OPERATOR II (Water Resource Management) position at City of Surprise?
Summary
Incumbents perform skilled work in the operation of potable water systems, including water supply facilities, arsenic treatment systems, disinfection processes, limited distribution activities, and the operation of groundwater wells. Incumbents are responsible for complying with regulations and permit conditions. This position is distinguished from the Water Operator I by having the responsibility for operating the plant in a control command perspective as advised by a Water Operator III, lead, or supervisor.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, and two years of water utilities or laboratory-related experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License at the time of hire.
Must possess and be able to maintain an Arizona Grade 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification and an Arizona Grade 1 Water Distribution System Operator Certification.
