What are the responsibilities and job description for the NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR position at City of Surprise?
SUMMARY
Under general direction, manages the purchase, installation, and support of converged network communications, including LAN/WAN voice and data. Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Participates in planning large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Provides work leadership and training to lower level technical support staff. Requires expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, converged voice and data networks, wireless, and applications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field; and four years of directly related experience with proficiency in one or more of the following areas: design, installation, and maintenance of telecommunications, networks, IP addressing, and/or VOIP. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of related education. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona driver license.
