Job Summary
The Economic Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting and advancing economic growth initiatives within the community. This role involves conducting comprehensive market research, analyzing economic data, and developing strategic reports to inform decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed market research and economic analysis to identify growth opportunities
- Administer the City's Loan and Marketing program
- Assist local business owners with transition planning and employee retention strategies
- Assist with grant applications and management
- Collaborate with local government agencies, businesses, and community organizations to gather relevant data and insights
- Support project management efforts related to economic initiatives and policy implementation
- Stay current with industry trends, economic indicators, and advancements in data analysis tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience with statistical software such as SAS, Stata, R, SQL, Python or similar tools for data analysis
- Strong knowledge of econometric methods including regression analysis and forecasting techniques
- Experience with machine learning applications in economic modeling is a plus
- Excellent research skills with the ability to collect and interpret complex data sets
- Proficiency in report writing and presenting analytical findings clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical skills combined with a solid understanding of math principles relevant to economic modeling
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in data collection and analysis tasks
