Essential Job Functions
- Assists customers and provides refueling, parking, towing, and tie down assistance. Processes payments (cash, check, and charges) for airplane services and provides receipts.

Inspects fuel farm and fuel trucks. Conducts daily fuel sampling, inspections and quality assurance testing. Transfers fuel from storage tanks to delivery trucks; maintains records of fuel consumption and reconciles fuel sales.

Conducts and documents inspections of various airport systems and instruments including Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI), Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS), and rotating beacon.

Performs general maintenance and inspects airport systems to include runways, taxiways, lights and fixtures, tie down ropes, wind indicators and other weather reporting instruments.

Performs maintenance and custodial duties for airport terminal and hangars, including performing semi-skilled carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting tasks. Maintains runways, taxiways and ramps, including sweeping, applying crack sealants, and applying herbicide.

Transmits airfield advisory information to local aircraft.

Operates and maintains power equipment such as tractors, lawn mowers, edgers, weed trimmers, chain saws, and blowers to maintain airport grounds.

Operates the airport without supervision on the weekends.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed by the Airport Manager.

Knowledge of and is skilled in the methods, techniques and equipment of building and grounds maintenance.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the operation of two way radios.
Knowledge of the geographic layout of the City and surrounding area.
Knowledge of the tools and equipment used to refuel aircraft.
Skilled in the use and care of a variety of hand and power tools.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instruction.
Ability to make simple mathematical calculations and provide correct change.
Ability to perform strenuous work for varying lengths of time under varying weather conditions.
Ability to exercise tact and courtesy in frequent contact with airport customers and the general public.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
Ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes receiving instructions, assignments or directions from superiors.
Ability to read and prepare correspondence, invoices, receipts, reports, inventory sheets, etc. Requires the ability to speak with poise, voice control and confidence.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
Ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in Standard English.
