83-26 Deputy Director of Communications: This position supports the Chief Public Affairs Officer/ Director of Communications in planning, coordinating and executing the City’s internal and external communications. This position manages and oversees day-to-day operations related to public information, social media, graphic design, website content, video productions, and community engagement. Serves in a management position within the Communications department. This position reports directly to the Chief Public Affairs/ Director of Communications. This position oversees daily activities of communications staff, including assigning tasks and supporting professional development. Work with Communications staff to identify areas of improvement, increased efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy with projects. Develop and delegate departmental goals, procedures and performance measures, work to develop and implement citywide communication strategies and campaigns and assist in the management of media relations, including drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, and serving as a spokesperson when designated.

Requirements: Five years of progressively responsible experience in public relations, marketing, communications, or a closely related field, bachelor’s degree in public relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field and at least two years of supervisory or project management experience, preferred. Valid driver’s license; must obtain an Oklahoma Driver’s license within thirty days of hire.

Starting salary: $71,843.20- $76,232.00 annually DOQ plus a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, annual leave, sick leave, holidays, and personal days.
