46-24 Firefighter/ EMT: The City of Stillwater is currently accepting applications for Firefighter I/ EMT. Candidates applying should be licensed as an EMT-B, EMT- A, EMT-I or EMT-P. Firefighting, Public Safety, Emergency Management or Military service preferred. Candidates applying as an EMT-B must have the ability to become licensed as an EMT-A within 36 months of employment; and should possess certifications as Firefighter 1 & 2, Haz-Mat Operations, NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800, or equivalent training through military service, IFSAC , Pro-Board, or an accredited university. All candidates must successfully complete the CPAT. (CPAT is not required for members currently in the Oklahoma Firefighter Retirement System). Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements of the Oklahoma Firefighter Pension and Retirement System and pass an extensive background check prior to employment.
Starting rate: $16.23 per hour (annualized base rate: $48,679.61) for a 56 hour workweek plus a comprehensive benefits package with additional pay given for EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic certification.
