What are the responsibilities and job description for the Museum Associate position at City of Sterling?
Under general supervision of the Museum Curator, the Museum Associate performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties and tasks to ensure continued operations of the museum and facilities, including but not limited to assisting Coordinator with planning and scheduling of special events and museum educational activities; providing information and materials to the public; research projects; inventory and organization of artifacts, and leading educational tours of the Museum.
Knowledge of:
- History, material culture, and artifacts sufficient to be able to perform research on collections materials;
- Standard of customer service delivery practices and procedures sufficient to be able to process various types of in person/phone contacts associated with customer service duties;
- Phone systems, radio systems, computers, and electronic data processing;
- Cash register operation, dealing with money, receipts and deposits;
- General custodian procedures;
- General office procedures sufficient to be able to ensure proper operation.
Education: High School or G.E.D.
Experience: Eighteen months through three years of routine or semi-skilled experience; prefer experience in a museum setting.

Special Requirements:
Possession of the appropriate CO operator's license for the type of City owned vehicle which the employee may operate in the scope of employment
