Description
The Customer Service Representative provides information and assistance to utility customers.
Examples of Duties
- Assists customers at the counter, drive-up window, and on the telephone;
- Establishes new accounts: accepts deposits and fees and provides information regarding utility system policies, procedures, and charges to customers;
- Collects payments from drop box;
- Enters payment and account data into the computer;
- Processes cut-off and cut-on work orders;
- Balances cash drawer on a daily basis;
- Accepts, receives, and/or collects payments;
- Opens, sorts, and distributes department mail;
- Verifies customer and service addresses.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Six (6) months of experience in a related field;
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.

The selected candidates must complete the following requirements prior to starting work with the City of Statesboro:
