Facilities Maintenance Technician – City of Stanley, WI

The City of Stanley is looking for a reliable, skilled individual to help keep our public facilities running smoothly. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining safe, functional spaces for our community.
You’ll work on a variety of tasks, from repairing mechanical systems to assisting with snow removal and supporting other city departments. If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and ready to take on a role that makes a real impact, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repair work on city buildings and equipment
- Inspect and service HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Repair or replace pumps, motors, valves, controls, and other mechanical components
- Maintain doors, windows, locks, and other building systems
- Verify work completed by outside contractors
- Assist with snow removal and seasonal maintenance
- Respond to emergency situations as needed
- Support other city departments and Streets & Grounds operations
- Operate city-owned tools, vehicles, and equipment safely
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a CDL within 12 months (cost reimbursed after one year of employment)
- Obtain Basic Water Operator Certification within 2 years
- Obtain Basic Wastewater Operator Certification within 3 years
- Minimum 5 years of combined trade school and/or experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints and operate tools and equipment safely
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building maintenance practices
- Willingness to work rotating weekends and emergency shifts
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Includes rotating weekends (with paid overtime)
