This is responsible supervisory, technical and administrative work in developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating environmental education programs, land management, and campground operations. Work involves overseeing the work of assigned staff and volunteers; participation in the selection, promotion, training, safety, appraisal, and discipline of assigned employees; enhancing, restoring, and protecting ecosystems; and requires the exercise of considerable independent judgement in initiating and carrying out assignments. Work hours will vary, based on programs, to include some nights and weekends.
Salary: $29.68 - $47.32 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
- Have thorough knowledge and understanding of ecological concepts and Florida Ecosystems.
- Have comprehensive oral and written communication skills.
- Successfully meet the State of Florida Level II background screening standards (Florida State Statutes 435.01-435.06).
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have a valid Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Education, biological science or a related field with two years of progressive experience in natural areas management including one year of supervisory experience; or have a two year college degree or equivalent college credit and four years of progressive natural areas management experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
- Possess two or more years of supervisory experience.
- Have knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Oracle E-Business Suite, ActiveNet software, and WFM timekeeper software.
- Have grant writing, and GIS mapping experience.
- Have strong leadership skills.
