The starting pay range is $28.46-30.19 based on experience, with competitive salary growth beyond the starting pay through our market-based pay plan. Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled technician to join our team, specializing in the collection and handling of solid waste, yard waste, and recyclable materials. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and environmental health of our community.
Normal Shift: 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (varies)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled labor tasks related to the collection and handling of various waste materials.
- Operate heavy equipment, power tools, and motorized equipment with advanced skill.
- Conduct minor repairs and servicing of equipment; report major maintenance issues.
- Assist in training new employees on safety protocols, equipment use, and work methods.
- Address customer and resident inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism.
- Assemble, clean, deliver, and repair solid waste collection cans.
- Operate ASL, Rear-Loader, Front-Loader, Knuckle-Boom Loader, and Roll-Off Trucks with proficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- High School graduate or GED certificate.
- One (1) year of applicable experience.
- Class "B" CDL with air brakes valid in the state of Missouri, or obtained within 120 days of employment.
- Commercial driver instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
